ItQan Track ("the App") is a personal Quran memorization tracker developed for individual use. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles and how your privacy is protected.
Short version: ItQan Track stores all your data locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded, sold, or shared with anyone.
1. Data We Collect
ItQan Track does not collect any personal information. The App does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any identifying information.
The following data is stored only on your device:
- The list of Surahs you have chosen to track
- Recitation log entries (date, Surah, confidence level)
- App settings (language preference, rung boundaries, reminder time, selected reciter)
- Custom tags you create
This data is stored in a local SQLite database and device storage (SecureStore). It never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export a backup file.
2. Audio Streaming
When you use the audio playback feature, the App streams Quran audio from a third-party Content Delivery Network (CDN): cdn.islamic.network (provided by Islamic Network).
The only information transmitted during audio streaming is the standard network request (Surah number, reciter ID, ayah number). No personal data or device identifiers are included. This is equivalent to visiting a public website.
We do not control the Islamic Network CDN and are not responsible for their data practices. You can review their policy at islamic.network.
3. Push Notifications
If you enable the daily reminder feature, the App schedules a local notification on your device. This notification is generated entirely on-device — no data is sent to any server to deliver it.
4. Analytics and Tracking
ItQan Track does not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or tracking technologies. There are no third-party SDKs that collect usage data.
5. Data Backup and Export
The App provides an optional backup/restore feature. If you use it, a JSON file containing your recitation data is saved to your device and can be shared using iOS's standard Share Sheet. You control where this file goes. We do not receive a copy.
6. Children's Privacy
ItQan Track does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected at all, the App is safe for users of all ages.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
